You’ll never be motivated to invest until you understand the power of compounding returns. The money you put into your ISA and pension may one day be dwarfed by the growth they generate. When I started seeing my investments return more each year than I was putting in, it was a real lightbulb moment for me. Maybe one day I really could live off my money... ...f course, some years I lose money too. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows! But that’s why investing can be such an incredible tool for building wealth. It allows you to own assets that can put money in your pocket while you sleep. You own a tiny piece of Google, Apple, Meta, or whatever companies you invest in, and the employees at those companies are working every day to make those businesses more valuable. That’s when it clicks: you’re no longer just working for money. Your money is starting to work for you. #investing
This is how much money I'm planning to invest in my whole life, and this is how much money I'm hoping to retire with. So how does this become this? Let me show you. Right now, I've got a £100,000 in my ISA and a £170,000 in my pension. So £270,000 total. But I haven't put £270,000 into these accounts myself. I've put in about a 165,000. So the rest, over a £100,000 of my wealth, is literally money my money has made. My whole plan to retire in ten years of 45 rests on the power of compounding return. If I can add £200,000 to my ISA over the next ten years and £35,000 to my pension when I retire at 45, £400,000 is all the money I will put in my ISA and pension across my whole life. But the pot could already be £900,000 by that point, which means I'll have already doubled my money. But that's not all. My 400,000 pension pot could grow to £1,000,000 by the time I can access it at 58 without adding another penny. That would bring me to £1,500,000 total, tripling the amount of money I've put in. That's the power of investing and why I'm telling everyone about it. If you want to retire early, you really should follow me.
